About Mrs.Lumpkins-Marshall
Mrs. Lumpkins-Marshall was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. Her parents were high school sweethearts from West Helen, Arkansas. Along with thousands of others, Mrs. Lumpkins-Marshall's parents migrated north to improve their quality of life. She attended Detroit Public Schools and graduated in 1994 from Redford High School. Shortly after graduation she attended Wayne State University where she obtained a Bachelors of Science (BS) in English Education and a Masters of Education(M.Ed) in Secondary Education. Ms. Lumpkins-Marshall never did adjust to the extreme cold of the north so when the opportunity to move south presented itself, she moved without hesitation. Mrs. Lumpkins-Marshall started her career with Shelby County Schools at Northside High in 2010. The following year she was reassigned to Sheffield High School. After four years of learning and teaching at Sheffield, she is now an English teacher at Cordova High School. Mrs. Lumpkins-Marshall recently published an autobiography entitled, God's Favorite Color is Blue: Memoirs of a Conqueror. Mrs. Lumpkins-Marshall counts it a privilege to teach the best students in Memphis. She truly believes and often states, "I was born for this"!

Mrs. Lumpkins-Marshall and has two beautiful children, Terrell and Kendra, and a supportive husband, Derrick. Mrs .Lumpkins-Marshall loves to dance and often performs with her co-workers a rendition of Proud Mary. Mrs. Lumpkins-Marshall travels often and has visited 39 of the 50 states. She plans to visit all 50 states by the time she turns 50 years old. Mrs. Lumpkins-Marshall's favorite time of year is Halloween through New Years. |
